Clinical Judgment
Intelligence.

Most NCLEX prep tracks your topic scores. ProfPrep tracks something more fundamental — the specific cognitive skill that breaks down when you get a question wrong.

There are six clinical judgment skills the NCLEX tests. We measure all six, identify exactly where your reasoning fails, and route every study session around it.

What Clinical Judgment Intelligence does
Tags every exam question and scenario stage with the cognitive skill it tests
Tracks your score across all 6 skills independently from topic scores
Detects your specific failure pattern — not just "Pharmacology is low" but "you see the cues but can't prioritize them"
Injects your weak skill profile into every Socratic Tutor session automatically
Maps each NGN scenario stage to the CJ skill it exercises

Built on the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (NCSBN CJM) — the framework the NCSBN uses to design the NCLEX itself. Learn more →

1
Recognize Cues
Identifying which clinical information is relevant — and which is a distractor
2
Analyze Cues
Interpreting what the relevant cues mean clinically and physiologically
3
Prioritize Hypotheses
Ranking patient problems by urgency and clinical significance
4
Generate Solutions
Identifying the right nursing actions and expected outcomes
5
Take Action
Committing to and implementing the highest-priority intervention
6
Evaluate Outcomes
Assessing whether the intervention achieved the expected result

We don't just say
"try harder."

When your score drops, most platforms tell you to study the topic more. We tell you exactly where your reasoning broke down — and what to do about it.

Recognize Cues failure
"You're being misled by distractors"
You're not filtering clinical information correctly — relevant and irrelevant cues look the same to you. The problem isn't knowledge, it's attention calibration.
Routes to: distractor-heavy practice sets
Analyze Cues failure
"You see it but can't interpret it"
You identify the right cues but misread what they mean clinically. The pathophysiology connection is breaking down between observation and meaning.
Routes to: pathophysiology-focused tutor
Prioritize Hypotheses failure
"You know the problems, not the order"
You're identifying all the right patient problems but can't rank them by urgency. ABC, Maslow, and acute vs chronic distinctions are getting mixed.
Routes to: priority-setting scenarios
Generate Solutions failure
"Right diagnosis, wrong plan"
You correctly identify the clinical problem but choose interventions that don't address the highest priority or match the expected outcome.
Routes to: intervention-mapping practice
Take Action failure
"Analysis paralysis at the decision point"
You generate the right solutions but hesitate or second-guess at the moment of action. You know what to do but won't commit to it under pressure.
Routes to: decisive action scenarios
Evaluate Outcomes failure
"You act but don't know if it worked"
You take the right action but can't identify whether the expected outcome occurred. You're missing the reassessment loop that closes the clinical judgment cycle.
Routes to: outcome-evaluation questions

Everything you
need to know.

What is Clinical Judgment Intelligence?
It’s ProfPrep’s framework for tracking your performance across the 6 cognitive skills the NCLEX tests — not just by topic. Built on the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model, it identifies exactly which reasoning skill is breaking down when you get questions wrong, and routes your study sessions around it. No other NCLEX platform does this.
How is this different from UWorld?
UWorld is excellent for traditional MCQ practice with a large static question bank. ProfPrep adds two things UWorld doesn’t have: NGN-native unfolding scenarios and Clinical Judgment Intelligence — skill-level reasoning tracking that tells you specifically where your thinking breaks down. ProfPrep is also 90% cheaper for 6-month access.
How does the Socratic Tutor use my CJI profile?
Before each tutor session, ProfPrep checks your Clinical Judgment Intelligence scores and injects your weakest skills into the tutor’s context. If Prioritize Hypotheses is your weak skill, the tutor automatically uses Socratic questioning targeted at that specific cognitive process — without you having to ask for it.
Will I ever run out of questions?
No. Questions are AI-generated fresh every session — you’ll never see the same question twice. There’s no static bank to exhaust. You can drill the same topic 20 different ways and get a different clinical presentation each time.
How do SATA questions work?
Select All That Apply questions use checkboxes so you can select multiple answers before committing. An amber notice confirms when you’re in SATA mode. Hit Submit Answer when you’ve made all your selections — the question won’t grade until you submit.
What are the daily limits?
8 scenarios, 15 exam sets, 10 study guides, and 40 tutor messages per day. Limits reset at midnight. Most students never hit them in a normal study session. If you’re in crunch mode, add-on packs double your limits: $19 Power Week or $29 Crunch Month.
Is this a subscription?
No. One payment, 6 months of access, no auto-renewal. Most students take their exam well within the 6-month window. If you need more time, you can purchase an extension at the same rate.
